Public Relations and Spanish Student
I am a passionate, organized, and extremely hardworking student at Auburn University. I love to write and collaborate with others and complete tasks with extreme attention to detail. I honed these skills during college through two internships and serving on governing council in my sorority. I know that these experiences have equipped me with the knowledge to excel in the professional world.
My passion for people and cultivating relationships paired with my love of writing made Public Relations the ideal field for me. Connecting with others has always been important to me, but I have learned to love the principles of the art of communication even more through my courses. My enthusiasm for this field stems from my desire to connect with others and make a positive impact on the world through effective and strategic communication.
Finding joy in everyday is one of my core values. To me, the phrase “be where your feet are” means to find your purpose or passion and pursue it with all you’ve got. One way I pursued this goal in college was serving as Vice President of Learning and Development for Kappa Delta Sorority. I had the privilege of leading 99 new members through the academic and personal challenges of freshman year. This was executed through budget planning and monitoring, and workshop creation and execution. I strive to embrace each moment fully, finding purpose and connection in even the simplest moments.
Moving from North Carolina to Alabama for college was a huge adjustment. I found a home away from home in the community of Auburn. I had the opportunity to intern at Auburn-Opelika Tourism for 8 months of my senior year. As a PR and Communications intern I was responsible for for designing and creating social media content, writing blogs highlighting local businesses and events, and managing web design tasks. Yet, my very favorite part was fostering relationships and practicing servant leadership- being just a small part of giving back to a community that has given me so much.
One of my goals in college was to truly take advantage of my time to learn and soak it all in! During the second semester of my junior year at Auburn, I chose to get a head start in my future career by interning at Here Molly Girl Marketing in Opelika, AL. Through this experience, I spent one-on-one time with the talented team and gained invaluable skills in time management and interpersonal communication. I was mentored, challenged, and pushed out of my comfort zone. Dedicating 20 hours a week as a full time student to this internship fueled my hunger to learn through hands-on experience.
I would love for you to connect with me!
